Children born to women taking the commonly prescribed seizure medication Depakote (divalproex sodium) are more likely to have birth defects and other problems.
Studies have demonstrated a strong link between Depakote and serious birth defects including Spina bifida, cleft palate, limb deformity, congenital cardiac defects, facial dysmorphism.
