Jeffrey W. Rickard



Jeffrey W. Rickard earned his B.S. from Oral Roberts University in 1979 and his Juris Doctor in 1985 from Santa Clara University School of Law.  Mr. Rickard’s practice has, for more than twenty years, been devoted to personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, insurance bad faith, mass tort and toxic exposure matters. While most of his professional career has been on the plaintiffs' side, Mr. Rickard also practiced as in-house counsel for a national insurance company for several years and gained first-hand knowledge of the defense approach to trial preparation, a perspective that he utilizes in preparing plaintiffs' cases for trial.  

Mr. Rickard has served as a Judge Pro Tem, Early Neutral Evaluator and Arbitrator for the Santa Clara County Superior Court, and, upon request, serves as a private mediator.  Mr. Rickard is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Santa Clara County Bar Association, National Association of Consumer Advocates, Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association (Board of Directors) and Professional Member, North American Brain Injury Society.  

Mr. Rickard was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association in 2008 along with a former colleague for their work in a trial that resulted in a verdict for their client in excess of $10,000,000.  Mr. Rickard, along with Ryan Hagan, again received the Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 2011 for their exemplary work in a difficult case that resolved for $6,625,000. Mr. Rickard was also a finalist for the Street Fighter of the Year Award by the Consumer Attorneys of California in 2009, and is AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
