On the evening of Thursday, September 9, 2010 at least four people were killed and 52 injured when a Pacific Gas & Electric gas pipeline allegedly San Bruno Fireexploded and started a fire that destroyed a San Bruno, California neighborhood.  As of Friday, investigators are still trying to determine what caused the devastating blast that left a crater in the ground and homes smoldering.

As a service to the public, we are posting the following information for those affected by the San Bruno fire and explosion:

Red Cross Shelter:
Veterans Memorial Recreation Center, 251 City Park Way at Crystal Springs Road, San Bruno

Red Cross Shelter:
San Bruno Senior Center, 1555 Crystal Springs Road, San Bruno

Red Cross Receiving Center:
Church of the Highlands, 1900 Monterey Drive, San Bruno – for those trying to locate family members or make other accommodations.

San Bruno Emergency Hotline:
(650) 616-7180 – The City of San Bruno is asking residents who were evacuated to let Red Cross officials know they’re safe by calling this number.

HOW TO HELP

Financial Assistance:
The best way to help is by donating money online at the Red Cross website at www.redcross.org.

Blood:
Give blood at Blood Centers of the Pacific 888-393-GIVE. Type O will be needed. People are urged to wait until next week to donate.
