San Francisco, CA November 5, 2009: It was recently disclosed that there is currently a worldwide investigation into violations of antitrust laws and other anti-competitive practices into the market for optical disk drives. According to press reports, the U.S. Department of Justice has requested information from Sony regarding its optical disc drive business in what could be the start of an investigation into the entire industry.

Optical disk drives are used in countless electronic devices, including CD players, CD-ROMs, CD-Rs, DVD players, DVD recorders, etc.
