Hertz Plate Pass Lawsuit Investigation

Hertz PlatePass Lawsuit

Audet & Partners, LLP is investigating claims on behalf of Hertz rental customers who were charged for Hertz’s Plate Pass service for days on which they did not incur any toll charges.  At issue in the potential Hertz Plate Pass lawsuit is Hertz’s practice of charging a $4.95 daily convenience fee for the service that allows customers to traverse toll roads in a hassle-free manner.  The problem is that Hertz continues to charge customers every day during their trip up to a maximum of $24.75 per trip, irregardless of whether they have incurred any toll charges.  Customers often do not discover this charge until months after their trip, and have stated that they were never made aware of this practice.

A similar lawsuit was recently initiated by the City of San Francisco against Hertz and its partners, American Traffic Solutions, to curtail this practice.  That suit notes the extent to which Hertz makes it difficult for customers to decline the Plate Pass service.
